Many companies across the U.K don't know that they could save up to 50% a year by switching their landline from BT. While one phone supplier offers good value for some businesses, it may not be the best choice for every company, as cheap business calls will depend on when you use the phone and where you call. Most companies charge different prices at different times of the day for local, national and mobile calls while others offer huge discounts on international calls. BT and some other companies constantly promote their capped rates plans as the best cost saver for business call charges, it's simply not. We meet lots of business customers being offered BT capped rate plans and what seems very attractive 9 times out of 10 for most business the plan actually works against you and you end up paying much much more money for landline and mobile business call charges.
How to work it out... Take a look at your last telephone bill summary page, work out how many minutes you made to local numbers (call duration) and divide it my the number of calls shown. This will give you your average call time. If your average call time is less than 2 minutes then a BT capped rate plan will NOT work for you.
Watch out for...
To make matters even worse, BT charge a minimum call setup charge, most bills we see for example show a minimum BT setup charge of 3 - 4 pence. We supply local and national calls at a minimum of 1 pence which is 3-4 times less than BT!
